Star King - Charice Pempengco

Charmaine Clarice Relucio Pempengco, better known by her screen name Charice (born May 10, 1993), is a Filipina singer who became a singing sensation throughout the world through YouTube. She started joining singing contests at the age of seven but became widely known in her native Philippines when she placed third in Little Big Star.

Early Years

Charice's mother, Raquel Relucio, had and still has a very musical ear, on May 10th 1993; she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Charmaine Clarice Relucio Pempengco in Cabuyao, Laguna, in the Philippines, not expecting the works to follow in this baby girl’s future.

Raquel noticed Charice could sing very high when she sang “Happy Birthday” at the age of 2; so taking her music experience into an account, she started teaching and training Charice at the tender age of 4, along with Raquel’s sister. With a lot of hard work and perseverance, Charice began singing in local contests in the Philippines when she was only 7 years old. Charice began her journey with one priority in mind, to help her mother through the hardships they went through, especially with living and finances. It was when she was 8 or 9 years old that she got onto a table and sang “My Heart Will Go On”, originally sung by the famous Celine Dion, that people realized that she is a natural performer.

Britain's Got Talent - Andrew Johnston

Andrew Johnston a 13-yr. old kid who won 3rd place in the 2008 Britain’s Got Talent. This boy’s voice makes me think one thing: an angel. He’s got the face and the pretty eyes and the most beautiful voice I have ever heard in my life. I cried when I heard him sing Pie Hesu. He is truly inspiring and amazing. I hope he makes it very far. Johnston had signed a record deal with SyCo Music, Simon Cowell’s division of Sony BMG, with an album to be produced after the Britain’s Got Talent Live Tour.

Britain's Got Talent - Charlie Green

Charlie Green is the son of British Roger Green from Droitwich, Worcestershire and Filipina Cecilia Sumargo from Cebu, Philipines. He started singing at the age of two as he entertained family and friends with his version of classic songs. He not only sings but can also dance, play the keyboards, guitar and the flute. When he was three, he joined a talent show on the cruise ship Ocean Majesty and has performed on other ships after that. Among his performances are at:

* the Royal Opera House in York
* the annual Black & White Minstrel Reunion
* the City of Worcester Brass at the Guildhall in Worcester
* the Phoenix Brass Band at the the St. Georges Day Concert at the Holy Trinity Church in Old Hill, West Midlands.
* the annual concert of The Not Forgotten Association for ex-servicemen at the St. James's Palace
* the Lady Ratling's annual variety show at the Kenneth More Theatre in Ilford, Essex.

And last month, he amazed the audiences and judges on the UK reality TV contest “Britain’s Got Talent”. Though he wasn’t make it to the finals, I believe he would be a great performer someday.

Britain's Got Talent - Connie Talbot

Connie Talbot (born 20 November 2000) is an English child singer from Streetly, Metropolitan Borough of Walsall, West Midlands. She rose to fame in 2007 when she reached the final of the television talent show Britain's Got Talent, where she lost to Paul Potts. Although it had originally seemed as though Talbot would sign with Sony BMG, the label pulled out of the deal due to her age.

Shortly afterwards, she signed with Rainbow Recording Company, and began production of her debut album, Over the Rainbow, which was released on 26 November 2007 in the UK, with a rerelease due June 2008. The first single from the album, "Over the Rainbow"/"White Christmas" was tipped as a potential Christmas number one. However, the single was not released, and the number one was claimed by fellow reality star Leon Jackson's single "When You Believe".

Although auditioning for the television reality show Britain's Got Talent was originally a family day out, Talbot's confidence increased when Simon Cowell, whom she is said to have idolised, described her as "pure magic" and said that he would make her earn "£1 million-plus this year". In June 2007 Talbot reached the final stage of the show singing The Wizard of Oz's "Over the Rainbow". Talbot was joint favourite (along with Paul Potts) to emerge as the winner of the first series of Britain's Got Talent. It was Potts who won as the result of a call-in vote on the night of the final.

Talbot lives in Streetly, in the West Midlands, and currently attends Blackwood Primary School. She lives with her mother, Sharon, a part time worker for an electrics company, her father Gavin, a self-employed property maintenance engineer, her teenage brother Josh and sister Mollie.

America's Got Talent - Kaitlyn Maher

Kaitlyn is a four year old with a passion for life! She enjoys singing, dancing, swimming, games, puzzles, playing with her daddy, reading with her mommy, and smothering her baby brother with kisses! Kaitlyn is also an avid reader. She learned to read at 2 years old and started Kindergarten at the age of 3. Her favorite books include Bible stories, American Girl books, Charlotte's Web, Fairy Tales, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and anything to do with Disney princesses!

Just after her fourth birthday, Kaitlyn was asked to audition for the hit NBC show "America's Got Talent" Season 3. Up until this show, Kaitlyn had only sung for friends and family and had never sung on stage. She had only two goals for the audition process: do her best and have fun -- both of which she accomplished in spades!

Kaitlyn loves singing. She has never had any voice lessons, but ever since she was one year old has sung everything from Christmas carols to songs in church to patriotic songs familiar to all. You can find a few clips of her singing at her site.

She particularly loves singing for "the old audience" -- the community of retired individuals in the local nursing home nearby where she lives. She's been singing there since the Christmas of 2006 and enjoys her trips there every few weeks or so.
